Scan Kick

Usage

Scan Kick monitors DplngScan/TWAIN use and attempts to correct scanner faults (*) before the scan starts (ROOL or Castle USB only). If the device hasn't been detected by the USB system it can optionally perform a fast kick on failing or empty ports to try and recover the scanner.

* Checking features can be bypassed if the 'Alt' key is held down when clicking on a scan button.

Running the program with the 'Alt' key held down will force the icon bar icon to be present overriding the configured state. Attempting to run a second copy of Scan Kick will also make the icon bar icon visible.

Clicking on the icon bar icon will open the Configuration window.

Scanner warmup - there are two types of warmup. With ScanKick running a normal warmup will multitask, a sleep warmup will not.

Kick failing ports On If the scanner hasn't been detected by the USB system then each port that has a non-working device is kicked to try and correct it.
Scanner check pop-up menu On Scanner checks are configurable for the user defined scan menu button. Some options on the menu initiate scans so it is advisable to set this to 'On'.
Icon bar icon On The program icon can be removed from the icon bar if required. When not present, the Scan Kick menu can be found by pressing menu over the 'Scan' button area in the TWAIN window (titled Epson GT).
